Creating A Functional Home

Do you love being in your home? A few years ago, I realized that my home was a little lackluster, which is why I started focusing on making things right by working with a team of construction contractors. I wanted to create an absolutely beautiful home interior, so I met with a team of professionals to talk about my construction options. They were really incredible to work with, and within a few short months, my home looked brand new. I wanted to create a blog all about creating a functional, gorgeous home so that you can adore your indoors space.

Are You Adding A Sunroom To Your House?

Do you have enough space on your land to add square footage to your existing house? Or, it might be that you are in the process of designing a brand-new house. Whatever the reason that you are thinking of adding a sunroom to your house, it might be some of the best money you'll ever spend. From arranging for the sunroom installation to selecting furniture and accent pieces, here are some ideas that might help you.

Arrange For Sunroom Installation

If you have decided to go with a sunroom as part of your house's floor plan, you probably have outdoor scenery that you want to enjoy. For example, maybe you live in a heavily wooded area, or your garden landscaping is so beautiful that it could be featured in a gardening magazine. No matter the scenery outside of your house, a sunroom would certainly be the perfect way to showcase it.

When you talk to the agent from the sunroom installation facility, he or she will have the training and the experience to advise you on the best design for your house. For example, a little cottage look or a gazebo look might be good sunroom choices for your type of house. An extended baby window might also be part of the sunroom design.

Consider having the entire room surrounded by glass picture windows. In addition, choose glass for your ceiling treatment, too. Can you just imagine sitting in your sunroom and getting to watch a lightning display? Picture sitting in the sunroom at night and getting to see the stars? And, of course, the daytime scenery will be a great way to greet each day as you enter the sunroom for your morning cup of coffee or a glass of your favorite fruit juice.

Sunroom Decor

Because you are showing off the beautiful area in which your house is situated, consider bringing that outdoor look right into your sunroom. For example, select fabric upholstery that depicts things like dragonflies, butterflies, ladybugs and other insects. A floral design for the fabric would be another good choice.

You can't put paintings on glass walls, right? However, if you have paintings you want to include as the decor in your sunroom, you can still put them on beautiful easels. Place the easels in strategic places, say a corner of the sunroom or in another area that won't disturb the flow of people traffic. Think of having a display shelf where you can place things like potted indoor plants and other collectibles.
